PHYSICIAN TESTIMONIALS

“I have about a one and a half year follow up on SELPHYL® with fat. I feel it has given my fat grafts a higher rate of permanancy, a greater take rate. SELPHYL® has been easy to use and add to my fat grafts. Patients have tolerated the procedure extremely well and have not had any adverse effects or complications from the addition of SELPHYL® to the graft material. Patients have been very pleased with their results. Although my preliminary study has convinced me that the addition of SELPHYL® has enhanced and improved the long term survival of my fat grafts a blinded study using volume measurements has begun to quantify these results. In the future we need to find the optimum way to combine SELPHYL® and fat for the best long term results. The primary factor inhibiting the more widespread use of fat grafting is graft survival. If we can positively affect the percent of graft survival, fat grafting will become one of our main treatments. Physicians who combine SELPHYL® with fat in their fat grafts can expect improved graft survival without any additional down time or complications. After 18 months of consistent follow-up, study outcomes reflect that SELPHYL® has given fat grafts not only a higher rate of permanency, but also a greater take rate. SELPHYL® has been easy to use and patients have been very pleased with their results. Preliminary findings reflect that the addition of SELPHYL® enhances and improves the long term survival of my fat grafts.”

“With SELPHYL®, we are using the patient’s own tissue and growth factors that are essentially taken from the blood, purified, and put into the desired area to guide natural tissue regeneration. Therefore, there is a slim chance of an allergic reaction and it is a very safe closed technique that takes about 30 minutes to complete. We have found SELPHYL® particularly useful in the infraorbital cheek area as an appropriate volumizer without the drawbacks encountered with some other fillers. Patients have embraced the concept of ‘autologous’ volumizers/rejuvenators that have growth factor potential as well. While the SELPHYL® system appears to be safe and is showing promise for skin rejuvenation, more research and clinical data is needed so we can understand the full potential of PRFM and where this novel therapy will play a role.”

“There is virtually no risk of allergic reaction since SELPHYL® doesn’t contain any synthetic or animal products. A small amount of blood is drawn from a vein in the arm, similar to having a routine blood test in your doctor’s office. The blood is placed in a centrifuge and spun at a high speed for about six minutes. The matrix is then injected into tissue. Once injected, SELPHYL® releases growth factors, stimulating collagen production, and the growth of new skin cells. After treatment the injected area might be a bit red in color, but will normally fade within a few hours. Mild swelling, slight bruising, itching, tenderness at the injected sight are also temporary, and will typically resolve within two days. The full effect of the procedure generally takes between five to six weeks. Treatment results are long lasting, usually between 18 months to 3 years. PRFM fits into this evolving category of treatments in a safe and minimally invasive manner. I look forward to seeing more clinical data to shed new light on where we can go with this technology.”

“Physicians can utilize the SELPHYL® System marketed by Aesthetic Factors, LLC in their offices, and the entire procedure takes less than 30 minutes. PRFM can achieve a subtle yet visible improvement that looks very natural that resonates with patients who are concerned about overcorrection.”
